In China, new regulations for the import of food and agricultural raw materials came into force on 1 January 2022. Food producers who export their products to China must register online with Chinese customs. The same applies to companies that process or store these goods.

The new import regulations were published by the China Customs Service in April 2021. Detailed instructions were only issued in October and the portal needed for online registration was activated in November.
