A very special welcome in our jubilee year

August - this traditionally means the beginning of training and this is of course also the case at WESSLING. This year, seven young colleagues began their training at the Altenberge headquarters and the Münster pharmaceutical site. In this context, 2023 represents a special year for the company, as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. Founded in 1983 in a historic windmill in Hansell near the current company headquarters, the international WESSLING Group now has around 1,200 employees, around 500 of whom work in Altenberge alone.

The traditional trainee breakfast at the start of training, where the freshly started trainees get to know the other cohorts as well as the company, had a special highlight in store this time: Thomas Dalhoff, the very first apprentice, was a guest here. He began his training as a chemical laboratory technician on 1 August 1983 in the analytical company, which had just been founded by Dr Erwin Weßling. He is still an integral part of the company today. It was a touching moment not only for all the trainees, who were warmly welcomed by Thomas Dalhoff and followed his memories of his own beginnings with great interest.

A total of 34 young colleagues are currently completing their training at WESSLING, the majority of them in Altenberge. Thus, in addition to the two trainers for the profession of chemical laboratory technician, Iris Eißing and Simone Sommer, 25 trainees also attended the welcome breakfast. "A great picture that shows that WESSLING has clearly defined itself as a training company from its founding until today," explained Diana Weßling, representative of the family-owned company, who led through the lively morning.

In a relaxed atmosphere, the higher years passed on their experiences from the previous training period to the newcomers. Of course, the breakfast also provided the perfect setting to honour those who had just completed their training with very good results. One thing became clear again at this trainee breakfast: in the course of its history, WESSLING has grown into an internationally active group of companies - the closeness and cordial cooperation have remained an unchanging part of the company's DNA.
