WESSLING and Day Care Centre Zappelkiste are packing parcels for the Little Prince charity campaign

Numerous lovingly wrapped parcels filled with all kinds of little surprises have been collected in recent weeks for a good cause by WESSLING, the consulting, analysis, and testing company, and the Day Care Centre Zappelkiste. They have now set off on their journey by truck to arrive at their destinations in Medias and Satu Mare, in Romania, in time for Christmas. Since 2010, this joint campaign during the Advent season has become a tradition, WESSLING employees and the children and teachers at the Day Care Centre Zappelkiste have been collecting money for the Little Prince campaign.

Maria Berkemeyer pulls the strings, with great success, at WESSLING for the parcel campaign and reminds colleagues, each autumn, when the campaign starts again. “Every year, our team enjoys packing these presents because we know it's for a good cause. Friends and former employees also join the campaign every year.” The campaign is of course also valuable from an educational point of view, says Petra Greving, manager of the Day Care Centre Zappelkiste: “We take a lot of time to explain to the children why we are collecting these gifts. Some children even give up their own toys to give them away.” This effort is paying off: a total of 75 parcels have now been sent on their way from Altenberge thanks to this fantastic commitment.

About the Little Prince campaign

The Little Prince campaign has been supporting projects for children in need worldwide since 1993. Since 1995, the parcel campaign for needy children in crisis areas in Eastern Europe has been organised every year in November, with over 200 kindergartens, schools, companies, and groups now taking part – among them WESSLING, since 2010, and the Day Care Centre Zappelkiste from Altenberge, since 2020. The organisers of the project attach great importance to local, expert, and reliable partners on-site, emergency aid, sustainability, and transparency. Project partners in Romania include Caritas Satu Mare and the city of Medias. Over the years, around 300,000 parcels have found their way into good hands and brought great joy to many children.
