WESSLING detects corona infections using PCR analysis and delivers results within 24 hours. The analysis can also detect virus variants and thereby enable tracking of the spread of, for example, the delta variant.
The detection of infections with the SARS-CoV-2 virus is possible with rapid antigen tests or by means of PCR analysis. Rapid antigen tests are relatively error-prone and have a low sensitivity compared to PCR analysis (antigen: 50-70%; PCR: 100%). The viral load in freshly infected persons is very low, which is why a reliable corona detection is only possible with rapid tests from the fourth day of infection. PCR analysis, on the other hand, can detect very low numbers of viruses in human samples, surface samples or air samples. Material from swab, gargle or sputum samples can be used for analysis, resulting in high flexibility in sampling.
PCR analysis (the current gold standard for corona testing) enables the detection and identification of variants of concern (VOC) and variants of interest (VOI) of the coronavirus, which allows the spread of, for example, the currently relevant delta variant to be tracked.
As an independent laboratory, we support you with our PCR analysis to analyse the test. Please feel free to contact us.
If required, filter cassettes and pumps can be obtained from our partner "GSA Messgerätebau GmbH, Ratingen", who will be happy to assist you in all aspects of virus collection: www.gsa-messgeraete.de/luftmessung-coronaviren
We are available for you with a few limitations. Please take this into account for your planning.
