470 years together in the company
Congratulations to the eighteen employees at WESSLING who have collectively celebrated 470 great years together at the Altenberge location. The celebrants can look back this year on a proud 30, 25 and 20 years of service with the company. There was a lively exchange and a group photo was taken with the next generation, who have been with the company for ten or fifteen years.
Iris Eißing, Gudrun Steinau and Knut Aengenheyster are as committed as they were on their first day, even after three decades, bringing their expertise to today's international analysis, testing and consulting company. “I could write an entire book full of memories. To put it in Aristotle's words: ‘The joy of working makes the work turn out excellently’,” Gudrun Steinau explains her daily motivation with a smile. The different tasks of the anniversary celebrants also stand for the diverse range of services: whether environmental or food experts, trainers or chemical laboratory specialists, or experts in job control or consulting. Diversity is perceived as enrichment in every respect, and experts from different disciplines working in teams across age, culture and country borders showed a high degree of identification with the company, Diana Weßling is pleased and expresses her thanks for their cooperation. “For us as a knowledge company, it is of the utmost importance to always look for new solutions. We would like to thank everyone who has worked so imaginatively over the years for our customers and thus for our joint success.”
Founded as a laboratory in a historic mill in Hansell near Altenberge, the family-owned company has developed into a service provider for almost all industries with 1200 employees across 22 locations in Europe and China. At the company headquarters alone, more than 400 specialists are working on quality, safety, health and environmental protection. How rapidly the work has changed over the years was also discussed. “In today's digital world with its large amounts of data, we laugh at the fact that in my early days we manually transferred customer data to index cards,” says Dorothea Driehorst, looking back on her beginnings in the company 25 years ago.
